New Place for New People is a Methodist Church evangelism & growth initiative that seeks to not only support new expressions of mission to new people in new places, who wouldn’t grace the building of a church, it aims to change our mind sets in our approach to mission and evangelism.

REV7 Community Hair Salon was set up to reach out to those on the margins of society, who for whatever reason could not access professional hair and nail services. Reverend Darren Middleton, when on sabbatical in 2021, wanted to, ‘get his head out of church’, and come alongside the community. Rev Darren has had many incarnations in life – a professional dancer and musical theatre performer, Methodist Minister, British Army Chaplain and now professionally qualified hairdresser / Barber.

Rev Darren’s vision is to embody the love of God in a very practical way. Rev Darren comments that, ‘REV7 is the best sermon he has ever preached!’

REV7 was three years in the making – powered by the Methodist Church, NPNP, Southwest Peninsula Methodist District, The Benefact Trust and a small army of volunteers – this team have birthed something quite remarkable – could this be the future of church in community?

As part of developing Rev7 activities, we are establishing The Fringe.
The Fringe is a network of activities that work together as part of an intention to create a safe space for everyone to explore and discover God, without agenda.

The Fringe seeks to engage all faiths and none.
Sharing simple meals and activities together, gives us opportunity to talk through some of the bigger spiritual questions, sharing experiences and understanding. Jesus is very much at the centre of our community and companions on this journey will reflect on the Way of Jesus- love, acceptance, wisdom, understanding and compassion.
Our focus and intention will be on those people who find themselves on the margins and fringes of society.

A Slice of Heaven produces a VLOG every two weeks focusing on Christ centred, every day spirituality.

These VLOGs are available to download on the website.
Vlogs are published on our social platforms – Facebook & Instagram.

A Slice of Heaven – Gathering

Meeting / Gathering on the 4th Monday in the month, at Rev7 Community Hair Salon – 26 Mutley Plain, Plymouth, PL4 6LD.

Immersion

360 Audio Visual Dome experience followed by conversation in the cafe – Free experience – Buy your own coffee.

Meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, at Market Hall Dome & Cafe, Duke Street, Devonport, PL1 4PS.
